Second Round: VFX Artist

I performed visual effects work on twelve shots from the short independent film Second Round, set in San Francisco in the 1930's, including adding muzzle blasts for gunshots, painting out historical inaccuracies like cars, graffiti, and light fixtures.

This film was the winner of the 2006 Tiburon Independent Film Festival.

For the shot below, I painted out the Golden Gate Bridge and replaced it with a still of the bridge under construction. I then motion tracked it in, adding film grain and color correction using After Effects, Photoshop, and Commotion.

For the shot below, I painted out the modern color posters from the wall and replaced them with archive photos. I had to rotoscope out the actor as he walked in front and turned his head to reveal the posters behind him.

The gunshot below involved adding muzzle blast footage and bumping up the brightness as the gun went off.
